After much prayer, work, anticipation, patience, and most of all time, Yielded is
pleased to announce the release of our newest project: "Gettin' Around Tuit". "Gettin' Around Tuit" has been in the making for more than 2 years. This story is best told in the inside cover liner notes written by YIELDED's Manager, John Ghormley. Also included in the recording are songs that were submitted from songwriters YIELDED has never met, a song written by our dear friend Debra Shepherd of The Shepherds from Sandersville, Ga, and another song written by Karen Ghormley of YIELDED. |

No doubt every individual and gospel group has had plans that never seemed to come
to pass. YIELDED is certainly no different. It was almost three years ago when this project was conceived. A number of circumstances conspired to delay its production and a second project was even produced prior to this one. However, we seem to have finally gotten "a round tuit". One of the songs on this project was planned and discussed months prior to the definition of the original plan. Karen had always wanted to record the song, "He", as it is her father's favorite song. So for my father-in-law, Leon Griffin, we've finally gotten "a round tuit". Karen wanted to record one of her own compositions but had not finished the lyrics to the song when we began planning this project several years ago. Since then, however, her daughter, Winter Grissom, helped her complete the song and Karen even composed a new melody for the song in the last year. It became the title song for this project, "A Round Tuit". Almost 10 years ago, Karen and I met an acquaintance from Oklahoma who had written a song that became special to Karen. After Karen and I married, she pitched the song to me and I (sorry, Pam) didn't like it. Its author, Pam Tucker is a fan of country gospel and that isn’t one of my favorites. However, as time wore on, I began to find myself singing the song to myself and gradually began to like it more and more. So, Pam, thanks mostly to Karen, we're gettin' "a round tuit". Long before I knew there was a North Carolina girl named Karen, I had a friend named Rick Nelson in Fort Worth who was pastoring while attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary there. He is a great southern gospel writer. His songs are so full of meaning and so well thought out that I'd always wanted to record some of them but was never able to do so. I introduced Karen to Rick Nelson's writing and she liked it as well. Consequently, we are including three songs on this project written by Rick. We told Rick about two years ago that we were going to record them and. at last, Rick, we are gettin' "a round tuit". We have a friend in Mt. Airy, NC named Hank Amos. Hank found our first bus for us and is also a prolific song writer. Like Rick, we told Hank we were going to record some of his songs. While I'm sure he thought we'd forgotten saying it. we are finally gettin' "a round tuit". With great satisfaction we present this project to you, our listeners and fans. We hope you enjoy it. YIELDED is quite pleased to have finally gotten "a round tuit". John Ghormley, Manager YIELDED October 2007 |
Thanks so much to each of you who have sent an email or called to check on John.
We can't tell you how much we appreciate your love and concern. John
is definately on the mend. He is walking again although he's very wobbly and
weak still. He lost so much weight that his leg no longer fit, but GOD made
a way for John to get a new leg. (John is a BK Amputee for those who don't know.)
Healing has been and continues to be a slow process but we can truly
say that God has used this time to minister to us. Again, special thanks goes to Karen Ray who has filled in driving the bus, doing sound and helping with equipment during John's illness. Without her help, YIELDED would have been crippled to stay on the road. For those who didn't know about the illness: Our manager John Ghormley, has been very sick for several months (Since December 2006) and Drs were stumped to figure out a diagnosis. John continued to get sicker and sicker until he was bed ridden. Well PRAISE THE LORD, a neurologist at Duke recently diagnosed John with " Diabetic Truncal Thorco Lumbar Radiculopathy". The Dr also mentioned "Diabetic Neuropathic Cachexia". As John's sugar levels are held stable, John has begun to get better. We thank everyone for their prayers during this time. Please continue to pray for John as he works on regaining strength to be able to walk again and get around once more. |
WELCOME RICH WERTIN AS YIELDED's TENOR VOCALIST! May 2008 - YIELDED welcomes RICH WERTIN from New Bern, NC, as our Tenor Vocalist. Rich
will be joining Karen singing alto and Rocky singing baritone for YIELDED's completely
new sound. Rocky will be adding more instrAumentation to YIELDED's
sound, as Rich joins in with piano, harmonica, and guitar on occasion.
Karen may even join in playing some piano, 12 string guitar, and bass gutiar. Along with YIELDED's new sound, we are in the process of revamping our whole website with a new look. Please keep YIELDED's members; Karen, Rocky, and Rich as well as YIELDED's background team of Gail Smith and John Ghormley in your prayers as we start a new "season" of uplifting the saints and ministering to the unsaved for Jesus. |
